Περιγραφή από τον πωλητή
Edwardian Carved Oak Wall Cabinet with Divided Compartments, England, circa 1900
Manufacturer: Unknown craftsman workshop, England
Year: circa 1900
Style / Use: Edwardian period wall cabinet; suitable for correspondence, small collectibles, spices, or decorative display
This compact wall cabinet reflects early 20th century English craftsmanship. The solid oak construction is defined by a carved upper frieze with repeated oval and leaf detailing, complemented by vertically fluted side borders. The interior is divided into four asymmetrical compartments, allowing practical organization while maintaining balanced proportions. A lower open shelf with front rail adds additional storage capacity.
The cabinet retains its original wall mounting brackets on the reverse. The overall structure is stable and solid. Surface shows consistent age-related patina, minor wear, and light scratches commensurate with age. No structural damage observed. The carving remains well defined, and the original finish is largely preserved.
Value justification:
Early 20th century English oak wall cabinets with intact carving and original mounting hardware are increasingly sought after for period interiors and curated decorative arrangements. The piece demonstrates representative Edwardian craftsmanship, solid oak material quality, and preserved original surface. Its compact size enhances usability in contemporary interiors while retaining historical integrity.
