Καλλιτέχνης φωτογράφος πολυεπιστημικής κατάρτισης, συγγραφέας και μουσικός, ο David Law developing a work centered on perception and presence of image in urban space. He first gained recognition through a series devoted to window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration around gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection.

Από το 2022, ο David Law develop a new corpus of works based on artistic photomosaic and contemporary digital composition. Each creation is devised from a multitude of microvisual fragments generated using current graphic tools, then selected, structured and recomposed meticulously by the artist. From afar, the image appears immediately legible, strong and affirmed. Up close, it reveals a dense architecture composed of thousands of elements subtly interwoven. This work rests on a precise artistic direction, a methodical and rigorous construction, a balance sought between fragmentation and unity, a constant demand for visual quality and decorative impact. Through this series, ο David Law poses questions about the fabrication of contemporary image and the way a multitude of fragments can give birth to a coherent and singular artwork.

Εκδόσεις & Κατασκευή

Κάθε έργο προσφέρεται σε περιορισμένη έκδοση 8 πρωτότυπων αντίτυπων συν 4 επιπλέον τεκμηριώσεις (A.P.), υπογεγραμμένα από τον καλλιτέχνη και συνοδευόμενα από πιστοποιητικό γνησιότητας. Οι εκτυπώσεις πραγματοποιούνται σε αλουμίνιο με ενσωματωμένο οπίσθιο άγκιστρο. Εκτύπωση σε λευκό φωτεινό βινύλιο, τοποθετημένο ανάμεσα σε δύο πλάκες αλουμινίου, με μαλακή πλαστικοποίηση αντι-UV και εν αντιονεικής υγρασίας, διασφαλίζοντας εξαιρετική αντοχή στο χρόνο, μεγάλη αντίσταση, σταθερότητα των χρωμάτων και σύγχρονη και μοντέρνα απόδοση.

Διαδρομή

Από το 2014, ο David Law συμμετέχει σε περίπου είκοσι εκθέσεις Σύγχρονης Τέχνης ανά έτος στη Γαλλία και την Ευρώπη. Είναι επίσης ο επίσημος φωτογράφος και βιντεογράφος για διάφορους διοργανωτές εκθέσεων σύγχρονης τέχνης. Παράλληλα με τη οπτική του δραστηριότητα, αναπτύσσει μια δουλειά ως συγγραφέας και μουσικός με 3 μυθιστορήματα, 1 συλλογή διηγημάτων, 1 κόμικ, 1 λεύκωμα φωτογραφίας και 5 αυτοπαραγωγές CDs. Τραγουδιστής-κιθαρίστας, εμφανίζεται αυτή τη στιγμή με το συγκρότημα FRENZY.
