Dial and Hands
The dial of this Rado Berg is a visual triumph, featuring a captivating grey gradient sunburst finish, often referred to as a fumé dial, which transitions smoothly from a lighter silver-grey center to a deep, dark charcoal at the outer edges. The dial is in exceptionally clean condition, presenting a pristine surface entirely free of visible moisture marks, spotting, or surface degradation. Time is indicated by applied, faceted silver indices featuring white center channels, which are dramatically punctuated by bright red printed extensions pointing toward the center. The applied silver Rado logo sits prominently below the twelve o'clock position, crowned by the brand's iconic free-spinning red anchor emblem. At six o'clock, the Berg model name is printed in an elegant italicized serif typeface, balanced by a framed date aperture at three o'clock that displays vintage red typography. The silver baton hands are well preserved with white central stripes, complemented by a slender, sweeping seconds hand that sweeps across the flawless dial surface.

Case and Crystal
The 36mm stainless steel case features a classic tonneau profile that sits comfortably and prominently on the wrist. The case retains excellent geometry, showcasing a sharp and deliberate transition between the brushed upper lug surfaces and the highly polished case flanks and bezel. While the case exhibits honest, superficial hairline scratches and minor handling marks consistent with careful vintage wear, it remains structurally crispy without any signs of heavy polishing or softening of the factory lines. The right flank houses the original signed crown, deeply embossed with the Rado anchor motif. The screw-down stainless steel caseback is well preserved, featuring a crisp and fully legible engraving of the Rado water-sealed seahorse medallion alongside the serial number G1036838. The watch is fitted with a domed acrylic crystal that remains clear and highly legible, showing only very faint surface wear that does not detract from the stunning dial beneath.

Movement
Powering this timepiece is a robust Swiss automatic movement, identified by the stamps beneath the balance wheel as the ETA caliber 2797. The movement is a visual delight, featuring a rich gold-plated finish and a highly distinctive waffle-patterned guilloché winding rotor. The rotor is proudly engraved with the Rado signature and notes the twenty-five jewel count. Running in vintage operational condition. Maintains the authentic mechanical character of the era. Strap
The watch is presented on its original period correct stainless steel flat-link bracelet, which perfectly complements the tonneau case design. The folding clasp is unmistakably original, featuring a deep and clear stamping of the Rado brand name and the signature anchor logo. The bracelet links maintain a cohesive brushed finish with polished sides, showing normal vintage stretch and light surface wear, and is sized to accommodate a wrist up to 19 cm.

Condition
This timepiece is graded in excellent vintage condition. The dial is the undeniable highlight, remaining flawlessly clean and vibrant with no visible aging or damage, a rarity for colored dials of this era. The stainless steel case and original bracelet show normal, honest signs of use, including light superficial scratches, but retain their original architectural integrity and sharp finishing contrasts. The caseback medallion and crown signatures remain deeply defined, and the movement presents beautifully with its unique textured rotor.
