Αυτό το επιμηκυμένο ξύλινο μάσκα έχει αποδοθεί στην πολιτιστική περιοχή Marka της Δυτικής Αφρικής, που βρίσκεται στα σημερινά Μάλι και Μπουρκίνα Φάσο. Οι μάσκες αυτού του τύπου συνδέονται παραδοσιακά με τελετές και κοινοτικές τελετές.
Η γλυπτική χαρακτηρίζεται από το μακρύ, στενό πρόσωπο, τα αμυγδαλωτά μάτια και τη διακριτικά ευθύνη μύτη που εκτείνεται κατά μήκος του κέντρου της μάσκας. Οι δύο κάθετες προβολές στο μέτωπο σχηματίζουν μια χαρακτηριστική κορυφή, προσδίδοντας στο έργο μια ζωή και επιβλητική παρουσία.
