This unique set of six antique objects offers an insight into the equipment and craftsmanship of the Ottoman Empire during the 19th century (ca. 1820-1880). These pieces likely originate from the Western Ottoman provinces, specifically the Balkan region (Greece, Albania, Bulgaria).
Detailed Contents of the Collection:
1. Two Ottoman 'Palaska' (Cartridge Boxes): Highly decorative brass ammunition boxes worn on a belt. Both feature intricate repoussé work depicting birds and floral motifs. Each box includes a hinged lid and original belt loops on the reverse.

2. Dimensions (picture 3): 3,5 x 7,5 x 8 cm / 280 gr
2. Four Ottoman 'Medoulàri' also named 'Çaputluk' (Grease Container with Charms): two characteristic containers used by warriors to store grease or oil for maintaining flintlock firearms. This piece is complete with decorative hanging charms that rattled while being worn.
