ITEM:
A full Japanese armor set crafted during the Meiji–Taishō period, faithfully following classical Edo-period aesthetics. The workmanship reflects a decorative and carefully executed piece typical of quality examples intended for ceremonial display, collecting, or historical presentation.
The iron kabuto, finished in black lacquer, is of suji bachi construction with visible rivet lines and features an imposing zoomorphic maedate with prominent gilt horns. The fukigaeshi are richly decorated with gold floral motifs on a black ground and display the same circular clan mon repeated throughout the armor, creating strong heraldic unity. The black lacquered menpō shows a fierce expression with applied light-colored moustache and yellow securing cords.
The lamellar dō is elaborately lacquered and decorated, most notably with a large gilt clan mon on a black ground with vegetal patterns at the center of the cuirass. The odoshi lacing combines orange, cream, purple, and yellow tones, executed with good regularity and tension, giving the armor strong visual vibrancy.
The kote incorporate kusari chain mail with protective plates finished in warm brown-gold lacquer, consistent with the rest of the suit. The haidate and suneate continue the same warm chromatic palette, with well-aligned lames and abundant decorative lacing.
The set is accompanied by its black lacquer storage box bearing the family mon in gold, a fitting and visually coherent companion piece.
Overall, this is a visually striking Japanese armor from the Meiji–Taishō period made in traditional style, notable for its strong decorative and heraldic presence. Particularly suitable for high-level display, collecting, or refined interior presentation.
A samurai armor that will be the central focus of any room where it is placed and that will delight any fan of Japanese art. This exclusive piece is making it an incredible opportunity for any collector of Japanese, war or simply historical art to get their hands on a piece that will attract attention wherever it is displayed, from offices, to private homes, offices or restaurants and will give a regal look to any place. The armour has gilded details that show the quality of the piece. The incredible workmanship accentuates such ornate pieces as the kabuto, the mempo and the Do. The stand to assemble it and the box are included. This armour is sure to delight any collector of Asian art and will be the focal point of any visitor's home, shop or office. There is a very ancient object and there are damaged by time and tears. There is a possibility that parts may have been added later or that restoration occurred. Due to the delicacy of continuous assembly and disassembly, returns are not allowed on old armor.
