A beautiful original color etching by the listed artist Samy Briss, executed in warm golden tonalities and signed in pencil by the artist. This impression is numbered 12/12, indicating a very small limited edition and enhancing the rarity and collectible character of the work.
The composition depicts two stylized figures locked in an intimate embrace, their forms merging into a single, harmonious silhouette. Samy Briss (b. 1930) is a Romanian-born Israeli artist associated with the École de Paris, known for his poetic, symbolic and highly decorative compositions. After studying in Bucharest, he later settled in Paris, where he became part of the vibrant post-war artistic community.
His works are characterized by simplified forms, symbolic figures, animals, musicians, birds and dreamlike landscapes, often rendered in warm tonalities and textured surfaces. Briss developed a very recognizable visual language that blends modernism with influences from ancient art, mythology and folk traditions.
Today, his works are held in numerous public and private collections and are appreciated internationally for their lyrical and timeless quality.
