This elegant incense burner (kōro) by Zuihō (瑞峰) is a fine example of traditional Takaoka copperware craftsmanship.

The piece is modeled in the form of a pheasant, featuring a refined elongated silhouette and a beautifully balanced composition. The surface is finished in a rich green patina, accented with gilt details that highlight the form and add depth to the design.

The pheasant (kiji), the national bird of Japan, symbolizes beauty and dignity in Japanese culture, making this work both aesthetically pleasing and culturally meaningful.
