A beautiful example of the iconic 5 Francs silver coin from the French Third Republic. This "Hercules" type, designed by the famous engraver Augustin Dupré, is one of the most recognizable and collected silver coins in French history.

Details:

• Obverse: Features Hercules standing between Liberty (holding a pike) and Equality (holding a level). Inscribed "LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ".

• Reverse: The denomination "5 FRANCS" and the date "1876" framed by a wreath of laurel and oak branches. Inscribed "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE".

• Edge: Lettered edge with "DIEU PROTEGE LA FRANCE".

• Mint: Paris (A).
• Weight: 25.00g.
• Material: Silver 900/1000.
• Diameter: 37mm.
