Περιγραφή από τον πωλητή
Ένα βάζο από ρουμπινί κόκκινο Opaline de Foire
Γαλλία - περίπου το 1900
"Opaline de Foire" είναι μια sophistacated double-layer or overlay technique:
The interior layer is made of white opaline glass (also called milk glass). This acts as a reflective backing.
A thin layer of ruby red crystal, colored with 24k gold chloride to achieve that specific "cranberry" hue, is blown over the white core. This combination creates a glowing effect.
The heavy gold scrollwork around the neck is raised gold enamel or gilded rocaille. These scrolling leaf motifs (acanthus leaves) are typical of the Louis XV / Neo-Rococo style, which was very popular in France between 1850 and 1900.
Artisans applied the gold in a thick paste that was then fired in a kiln. This fired-on gold is extremely durable and has a distinct physical texture you can feel with your fingertips.
The small gold accents scattered across the body are finishing touch, designed to catch the light from every angle.
Height = 18 cm
Diameter = 8 cm
Weight = 350 g
In good condition. Normal traces of age and use. Some gold dots have partially worn off. One minuscule chip / frit along the rim (see last photo).
For a good impression, please watch all photos carefully.
Insured shipping.
Can also be collected in Ghent, Belgium.
