Περιγραφή από τον πωλητή
庄左ェ門 Shozaemon 押小路窯 Oshikoji kiln, Kyo ware 'Ninsei style Black-glazed Cherry Blossom Petals Gold Wave Tea Bowl' with Original Box (Tomobako)
with seal 'Oshikoji' 押小路
押小路焼 Oshikoji Yaki
Oshikoji ware was produced in Oshikoji, Kyoto, around 1624 and was opened by Kurita Kurouemon, a teacher of Kyoyaki Nonomura Ninsei. His sons Shozaemon and Sukezaemon studied under Ninsei and produced Ninsei-style paintings and stamped the seal ‘Oshikoji’ on the bottom.
The deep black glaze becomes a stage for drifting cherry‑blossom petals and sweeping gold wave motifs, an arrangement that echoes the decorative clarity of Ninsei‑style Kyoto ware and aligns with the lineage of Oshikoji ware founded in early‑seventeenth‑century Kyoto, where Shozaemon and his family produced works under the influence of Nonomura Ninsei, and the seal “Oshikoji” on the foot ties this bowl to that tradition, the contrast between the dark ground and the bright petals giving it a presence that feels ready to settle into someone’s tea practice—brought out on evenings when a quiet, elegant accent is welcome, its patterns becoming familiar companions over time, all kept together with its tomobako.
Box dimensions: 5.8" x 5.8" x 4.7" / 14.8cm x 14.8cm x 12cm
