Dial and Hands
The silver dial features a striking, fine sunburst finish that catches the light beautifully. It is adorned with applied, faceted gold-tone baton hour markers and the iconic applied Ulysse Nardin anchor logo positioned below twelve o'clock. The crisp black serif typography reads "ULYSSE NARDIN," with "SWISS MADE" flanking the six o'clock position. The elegant gold-tone dauphine hands complement the indices perfectly, accompanied by a slender central sweep seconds hand. The dial remains in exceptionally clean condition, showing only the faintest signs of age-consistent character under close inspection, with no significant spots, staining, or damage visible.
Case and Crystal
The 35mm gold-plated case boasts a refined, slim profile typical of classic dress watches from the era. The case features a thin, polished bezel and gracefully proportioned straight lugs. The snap-on caseback is a particular highlight, bearing a deeply engraved Japanese inscription commemorating 25 years of continuous service, dated May 5, Showa 39 (1964), from Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Inside the caseback, the markings "GOLD PLATED 1505" and the case serial "40400159" are clearly visible. The case shows honest, light wear consistent with its age, maintaining its elegant shape without heavy polishing. A domed acrylic crystal protects the dial, remaining clear and free from major scratches.
Movement
Inside beats a beautifully finished Swiss manual-wind movement, proudly signed "ULYSSE NARDIN SWISS" on the main bridge. The movement displays classic finishing techniques and bears the serial number 5902711 clearly on the mainplate. The caliber presents exceptionally well, with clean plates, bright gears, and vibrant ruby jewels. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece, the timegrapher results indicate a performance of +11 to +16 seconds per day.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a period-correct black leather strap featuring tonal stitching and a gold-tone pin buckle that complements the case material. The strap appears to be in excellent, lightly worn condition, ready for immediate wear.
Condition
This Ulysse Nardin is presented in excellent vintage condition. The dial is outstandingly preserved, standing out as a prime example of mid-century Swiss design. The gold-plated case retains its structural integrity and elegant lines, showing only minor surface wear appropriate for a watch from 1964. The deeply engraved commemorative caseback adds a unique layer of historical charm without compromising the overall aesthetic appeal.

History
Founded in 1846 in Le Locle, Switzerland, Ulysse Nardin initially built its reputation on highly accurate marine chronometers, which were supplied to over fifty of the world's navies. By the mid-20th century, the brand had successfully translated this legacy of precision into elegant wristwatches. During the 1960s, fine Swiss watches were highly prized as corporate gifts in Japan, symbolizing the ultimate recognition of loyalty and service. This specific watch perfectly captures that era of international commerce and the enduring appeal of traditional Swiss horology.
