Original Soviet-era bust of Vladimir Lenin produced in the USSR in 1986.
This expressive Cold War period sculpture comes from the famous Leningrad “Monumentsculptura” production and still retains its original factory label inside the base — a rare surviving detail that strongly enhances authenticity and collector appeal.
The original label inside the base identifies the work as “V. I. Lenin” and references the famous Leningrad Monumentsculpture Plant.
The bust is attributed to Abashvili, whose name appears both on the preserved factory label and on the sculpture itself.
The bust features a striking metallic industrial appearance typical of late Soviet decorative and ideological art. The sharp facial lines, minimalist geometric form and heavy visual presence create a powerful display object associated with Soviet political symbolism and 20th century communist history.
Unlike many surviving examples, this piece preserves:
original internal factory paper label,
production date “IV-86” (April 1986),
USSR manufacturing markings,
sculptor/factory references visible on the object.
The sculpture works exceptionally well both as:
a historical Soviet memorabilia collectible,
and as a strong industrial / brutalist interior display piece.
A highly atmospheric object from the final decade of the Soviet Union.
Condition:
