This type of figure traditionally served as memorials for important people. Very commonly, they were carved from soapstone or another soft stone, which gives them their characteristic rough surface.
This figure is holding a jar in its arms. This may have a specific meaning related to the status or personality of the deceased. This figure appears in good condition without damage. Presumed to be from the first half of the 20th century. H. 17.5 cm
