There's an unspoken law in the world of antiques: if you want to see what "light dressed in white" looks like, you have to look at the bottom of a Theodore Haviland glass.
Theodore Haviland 1903 г.
In the late 19th century, the small town of Limoges in France resembled a vast, smoking beehive. The ground was white with kaolin and the air shimmered with the heat of the kilns. But in one particular factory—that of Theodore Haviland—there was a silence that bordered on magic.
Theodore wasn't just a factory owner. He was obsessed with the idea of "transparency." Legend has it that he spent hours holding freshly baked plates up to the sun. If he couldn't see the shadow of his fingers through the porcelain, the entire batch was scrapped. He wanted to create a world in which an object was so ethereal that it looked as if it were made of clouds, not clay.
In this world, artists worked in almost complete secrecy. They painted thousands of roses, violets, and ribbons, and there was one strange rule: the designs had to have no names. For Theodore, names limited imagination. He wanted every woman who held his cup to come up with a name for her flowers.
Thus was born Haviland's "greatest mystery" - thousands of unique designs that existed without identity, like ghost gardens that only their owner could name.
These exquisite cups are a true declaration of love for French aesthetics and aristocratic finesse. Made from the legendary Haviland Limoges porcelain, they embody the spirit of the Belle Époque era and the sophistication of the Louis XVI style.
The fine hand decoration presents a delicate dance of mesmerizing pink roses, gently tied with ethereal blue ribbons, a symbol of timeless elegance and romance.
The hand-applied gold edging and the elegantly curved, gold-plated handle give the item a regal aura, turning the usual ritual of drinking coffee into a special event.
The porcelain has exceptional transparency and lightness, which is the trademark of the Limoges masters.
6 cups (100 ml):
This capacity is the gold standard for short coffee. The shape is designed to preserve the aroma and heat of the drink, while the fine porcelain rim ensures maximum sipping comfort.
6 saucers (13 cm):
Perfectly balanced against the cup, it provides enough space for a small spoon or a delicate sugar bowl, while emphasizing the central figure of the cup with its concentric garlands of roses.
Condition: Excellent!!!
I am attaching a video I made.
