1 Elegant Hand-Cut Crystal Strawberry Set – Fan Cut (Waaierkristal) – Netherlands, circa 1880.
1 French Silver Strawberry Serving Spoon – Minerva 800 – Vermeil Bowl – Rococo Style – 22.5 cm
A refined and highly decorative three-piece dessert set in beautifully hand-cut crystal, featuring a fan and star cut pattern (waaierkristal) typical of late 19th-century Dutch craftsmanship.
This charming ensemble consists of a raised bowl with integrated draining function (vergiet), resting on an elegant matching underplate, accompanied by a serve spoon. The finely cut motifs create a stunning play of light, enhancing the brilliance and depth of the crystal.
Originally intended for serving strawberries, fruits or bonbons, the perforated bowl allows excess liquid to drain onto the underplate — both practical and aesthetically pleasing.
The piece stands on three delicate feet, adding lightness and refinement to the design, while the richly cut decoration reflects the high level of artisanal skill of the period.
