DENON DP-2000 Quartz Direct Drive Turntable with DP-2500 Wooden Plinth & Tonearm – Rare Vintage Hi-Fi from Japan
Presented here is a beautiful and exceptionally well-preserved DENON DP-2000 quartz-locked direct-drive turntable unit, mounted in its matching DP-2500 wooden plinth/base with tonearm, manufactured by Nippon Columbia (DENON) in Japan during the late 1970s.
The DP-2000 was DENON's professional-grade direct-drive turntable chassis, renowned for its exceptional speed stability thanks to its quartz-controlled, frequency-detection servo motor. This unit has been combined with the elegant rosewood-finish DP-2500 cabinet, creating a complete and visually striking record player.
The turntable features the classic brushed aluminium platter with rubber mat, a 33/45 RPM slide switch, START/STOP button, and a green power indicator light that illuminates beautifully when powered on. The tonearm is fitted with a genuine DENON headshell marked "DENON Dynamic Damping," complete with anti-skating dial.
The following functions have been checked and confirmed working: power-on, all button operations, record playback with sound output, and both 33/45 RPM speeds. A reproduction copy of the DENON DP-2000 service manual is included for reference.
This is a wonderful opportunity for vintage hi-fi collectors and audiophiles to acquire a rare combination of the legendary DP-2000 direct-drive mechanism in its handsome wooden DP-2500 housing — increasingly difficult to find in this condition.
