Dial and Hands
The watch features a silver dial finished with a refined vertical brushing technique that catches the light beautifully across its surface. It is appointed with applied faceted steel baton indices featuring black inserts, complemented by an applied Omega logo at the twelve o'clock position. The original baton hands mirror the indices with black detailing and luminous material. Upon close inspection, the dial exhibits distinct, localized oxidation and moisture staining immediately surrounding the stepped date aperture at three o'clock. There is also scattered, lighter spotting across the dial surface, and the black painted inserts on the hour and minute hands show visible signs of age-consistent flaking and degradation. The crosshair-style Seamaster Cosmic typography remains crisp and fully legible.

Case and Crystal
The 35mm stainless steel tonneau case showcases the classic c-shape profile that defined the era. The case retains a clear distinction between the sunburst brushed upper surfaces and the polished case flanks, displaying normal handling marks, light surface scratches, and softened edges consistent with decades of wear. The watch is fitted with a domed acrylic crystal that presents clearly with only minor surface wear. On the right side, the case is equipped with a period-correct, scalloped Omega signed crown. The solid caseback features a deeply engraved and well-preserved Seamaster Hippocampus logo alongside the Waterproof designation and the 166026 Tool 107 engraving, denoting the front-loading unibody construction designed to enhance water resistance.

Movement
Inside this monocoque case beats the highly regarded Omega Caliber 565 automatic movement, featuring a swan-neck regulator and a quickset date function operated by repeatedly pulling the crown. The copper-toned movement plates remain bright and visually clean, clearly displaying the 29-million serial number which dates production to approximately 1969. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The timegrapher records a deviation of -10 to -19 seconds per day.

Strap
The watch is paired with a supple black leather strap accented by subtle blue contrast stitching. It is secured to the wrist with a vintage stainless steel pin buckle featuring the applied Omega logo, with the reverse side properly stamped with Swiss fabrication markings.

Condition
This timepiece is presented in good vintage condition. The stainless steel case remains structurally sound while exhibiting honest wear and light marks from regular use. The dial shows clear character and aging, most notably the concentrated oxidation bordering the date window and the degradation of the handset paint. The caseback engravings remain sharp and deeply defined, and the movement is remarkably clean and running with impressive precision.

Dimensions
The stainless steel case measures 35 mm in diameter, excluding the signed crown, offering a classic and comfortable vintage proportion that wears with distinct presence due to the tonneau geometry.
