Μια σπάνια, χειροποίητη ζωγραφισμένη εικόνα του Χριστού – “THE ALL-SEEN EYE”. Μ serves as a reminder to believers that the Lord knows and sees everything. It is based on the words from the Psalter:
“Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear Him, upon them that hope in His mercy”
This is one of the most complex compositions in iconography. The icon consists of several circles, each with its own symbolic meaning.
The Savior is depicted in the very center, the next circle contains the eyes and other parts of the face, the next - the Mother of God, and the fourth - angels. The remaining circles and rays depict the evangelists, angels and other heavenly beings.
Above the circular composition is an image of God the Father. All images are supplemented by quotes from the books of the Old and New Testaments and hymns.
The composition "All-Seeing Eye" does not correspond to church canons, but it can still be found in church frescoes and on icons.
It is important to remember that we are all always under the All-Seeing Eye and never lose the fear of God and hope in the Lord.
