Vintage handcrafted Turkish stone chess set – White Onyx & Black Marble – circa 1990s
Beautiful handcrafted chess set acquired in Turkey during the early 1990s, made from natural stone and carved by hand in the traditional style of Anatolian stone workshops.
The board combines translucent white onyx with contrasting black natural stone, creating an elegant checkerboard with warm natural veining. Every square is made from genuine stone, giving the set considerable weight and a luxurious appearance.
The chess pieces are individually hand-carved from matching natural stone. As expected from handmade craftsmanship, each piece presents slight variations in colour, veining and finish, making every set unique.
This is an attractive decorative object as well as a fully functional chess set, equally suitable for collectors, interior decoration or regular play.
Condition is good vintage overall. The set shows normal signs of age and use acquired over several decades. Please examine the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
