Dial and Hands
The dial is a captivating study in texture and tone, featuring a strong vertical hairline brushing that transitions through a gradient of grey to a subtle metallic brown at the edges. It is adorned with prominent, applied faceted block indices that feature gold-tone fluted accents at the twelve, six, and nine o'clock positions. The applied silver-tone Seiko and LM logos add further three-dimensional depth, sitting above the crisply printed automatic and jewel count text, alongside the Suwa factory symbol. A framed day and date aperture at three o'clock provides practical functionality. The original dauphine hands feature central luminous strips that have aged to a pale green tone, exhibiting minor oxidation along their polished edges. Upon close visual inspection, the dial remains highly attractive but does display minor, scattered age-related spotting and tiny particulate marks, primarily visible under magnification, which present as honest vintage character rather than distracting damage. The dial code JAPAN 5606-7630S is clearly visible at the bottom edge.

Case and Crystal
The 35 millimeter stainless steel case features a sharp, angular lug profile that retains its strong factory geometry and precise transitions between brushed and polished surfaces. The polished bezel and case flanks exhibit light, superficial handling marks and hairline scratches consistent with normal, careful wear over the decades, without any signs of heavy over-polishing. The standout feature of this watch is its deeply cut, multi-faceted crystal. The geometric facets sit proudly above the bezel, creating a dynamic play of light that distorts and enhances the brushed dial beneath it. The crystal shows some very light surface wear but remains remarkably clear and structurally sound. The solid stainless steel screw-down caseback is sharply engraved with the Seiko branding, water resistance notation, reference 5606-7290, and the serial number 3D2777.

Movement
Powering this timepiece is the in-house Seiko caliber 5606A, a highly regarded 25 jewel automatic movement that formed the backbone of many premium Seiko models of the era. The movement presents cleanly in the provided images, with the signed rotor, jewel bearings, and regulating pins all clearly visible and well-preserved. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady. The timegrapher records a deviation of -22 to -25 seconds per day.

Strap
The watch is fitted with its original stainless steel multi-link bracelet, which perfectly complements the angular aesthetic of the case. The bracelet features the period-correct folding clasp, prominently stamped with the Seiko LM branding. The endlinks are securely fitted to the case and bear the authentic XAA 940 stamping. The bracelet exhibits normal, light stretching and surface wear consistent with its age, and is sized to accommodate a wrist up to 18 cm.

Condition
This Lord Matic is presented in excellent vintage condition. It has been carefully preserved, retaining its sharp case lines, crisp caseback engravings, and original signed bracelet. The wear is entirely honest, consisting of fine superficial scratches on the steel surfaces and minor, age-consistent spotting on the dial. The faceted crystal, a notoriously difficult component to keep pristine, has survived in highly commendable shape. Overall, it is a mechanically sound and visually striking vintage survivor.
