“Yakushin Tora” (Advancing Tiger) Paperweight by Kitamura Seibo – Nickel Silver, with Wooden Box & Biography - This is piece is a copy of the original.

This impressive paperweight, titled “Yakushin Tora” (Advancing Tiger), was created by the celebrated Japanese sculptor Kitamura Seibo.

Crafted from nickel silver, it powerfully depicts a tiger advancing in a low stalking posture. The dynamic musculature, expressive movement, and finely sculpted fur demonstrate Seibo’s exceptional mastery of animal sculpture.

Weighing approximately 496 g, the piece functions perfectly as a paperweight for calligraphy or painting while also serving as an elegant desk ornament or collectible metal sculpture.

The underside bears the “Nickel Silver” hallmark, confirming the material.
