The Jupiter-8 50mm f/2 is a Soviet rangefinder standard lens derived directly from the pre-war Carl Zeiss Sonnar, with an optical formula of six elements in three groups. Produced in M39 Leica thread mount for the Zorki, FED and compatible cameras from the late 1940s into the 1970s, it was made principally by KMZ. The Sonnar lineage gives it a warm rendering, smooth bokeh and gentle contrast that many photographers prize on both film rangefinders and modern mirrorless bodies via adapters. Compact and all-metal, it remains one of the most accessible classic Sonnar-type lenses.

Mount & Compatibility
This lens uses the M39 (Leica Thread Mount / LTM) screw mount and is a manual-focus rangefinder lens. It adapts readily to Leica M bodies via an M39-to-M ring, and to virtually any mirrorless camera with an inexpensive adapter.

This is a third-party lens (not made by the camera brand). Build, coatings and rendering differ from first-party optics, and the same optical design was often offered in multiple mounts. Please verify the specific mount version shown in the photos.
