ΚIssued in stoneware and finished with nunome — a technique of pressing woven cloth into the clay before firing — this rounded vase shows a fine, even textile texture across its entire surface, interrupted by loose, calligraphic strokes of iron-red running down from the shoulder. The narrow neck and full, globular body give the piece a quiet, grounded presence, while the tactile surface rewards close handling — a hallmark of Ito's long-standing reputation within the Nihon Dento Kogei (Japan Traditional Kogei) tradition.
