Elvis The Concert - The 25th Anniversary Edition Songbook for Piano – Conductor - Signed by all artists (Memphis, 2002)

In August 2002, Memphis witnessed one of the most extraordinary moments in modern Elvis history. Twenty five years after his passing, Elvis effectively returned to the stage during a unique video performance of Elvis The Concert at the Pyramid Arena — a massive venue filled to the rafters with fans from around the world.(see photo)

On a giant video screen, Elvis appeared in pristine quality, drawn from carefully selected live footage from Aloha From Hawaii, That’s The Way It Is, Elvis On Tour, and various 1970s concert recordings. While Elvis sang on screen, his original TCB Band and other musicians performed live on stage, perfectly synchronized with the footage.

The TCB Band was nearly complete: James Burton on lead guitar, Jerry Scheff on bass, Ronnie Tutt on drums, Glen D. Hardin on piano, and Charlie Hodge on guitar and harmony vocals. The Joe Guercio Orchestra provided strings and brass, while The Sweet Inspirations, The Stamps, Kathy Westmoreland and Sherill Nielsen formed the vocal section. It was a rare moment in which almost all original Elvis musicians stood together on stage again — twenty five years after their final performance with him.

The Film Medley

During that concert, a film medley with live music was performed, for which Ron Feuer — who previously played in the Joe Guercio Orchestra and accompanied Elvis during the 1970s — wrote the full arrangements together with his son, Ron Feuer Jr.

Ron Feuer Sr. had two score books signed by all artists present at the event. One of these unique, artist signed copies is offered for sale here: the score book for piano and conductor, featuring signatures on the front cover.

Ron Feuer sr. (see photo)

Ron Feuer Sr. is an American professional keyboardist who built his career in the vibrant world of live entertainment, particularly within the Las Vegas show circuit. He performed as a keyboard player for Elvis Presley, contributing to the powerful orchestral sound that supported Elvis during his live performances. In addition to his work with Elvis, he also played for The Supremes, one of Motown’s most influential vocal groups, which placed him among the respected musicians trusted to accompany top tier artists on stage.

Provenance – Ron Feuer’s Songbooks

In 2008, ElvisMatters organized a major European tour featuring the original TCB musicians together with the Joe Guercio Orchestra. Several members of Guercio’s orchestra had performed with Elvis during the 1970s, including Ron Feuer. I served as the tour manager for these concerts.

During that European tour, Ron mentioned that he still had two songbooks at home for the film medley — one for violin and one for piano/conductor. He owned the original songbooks and had both volumes signed by all the artists who performed on stage. I acquired these books, and one is now included in this auction.
