Description:

公 Elements – In losing shapes” (Part 1-2-3-4) is a contemporary series of four artworks created in 2026 by artist Ina Varpa. The series explores the loss of structural clarity and the transformation of form through contrast, texture, and material tension, where the interplay of gold and black evokes themes of duality, instability, and reconfiguration.

Each artwork is executed on a square canvas using acrylic, texture paste, metallic pigments, and genuine gold leaf. The surface is intentionally sculptural and layered, creating depth and a tactile presence. The metallic elements interact with light, producing shifting reflections that alter the perception of the composition depending on the viewing angle.

The compositions are built on a restrained geometric framework, disrupted by organic textures and expressive material flows. This contrast between order and dissolution forms the conceptual basis of the series, where the “chessboard” becomes a metaphor for structure undergoing transformation.

Although united by a common visual language, each of the four works presents a unique variation of texture, balance, and spatial tension. Together, they form a cohesive series, while also functioning as independent pieces.

The series is designed as a statement for contemporary interiors, particularly suited to minimalist and modern spaces. The contrast of deep black and luminous gold creates a strong visual focal point, enhancing spatial depth and atmosphere.

All artworks are original, one-of-a-kind pieces, created by the artist and available directly from the studio.
