Ivo Hauptmann, private student of Lovis Corinth, was a prominent German painter and printmaker (1886–1973), primarily known for his work within Impressionism and Expressionism. He was a key member in the founding of important avant-garde groups, such as the Free Secession of Berlin (1914) and the Hamburg Secession (1919).
