Mid-Century Modern Italian Ceramic Bottle Vase – Raymor (marked “RAYOR”), Italy, c. 1950s–1970s
Elegant mid-century modern Italian ceramic bottle vase imported by Raymor.
Classic bottle form with vertically ribbed neck, gently swelling body decorated with raised chevron (herringbone) bands in lighter taupe against a deep near-black glaze, and a slightly flared foot. Strong graphic and tactile effect typical of quality Italian modernist ceramics of the period.
Marks
Handwritten on the base: “18 F / ITALY / RAYOR”.
“RAYOR” is a known handwriting variation/misspelling of RAYMOR, the important American importer of Italian modern ceramics (1950s–1970s). Such minor spelling differences appear on genuine hand-marked export pieces and are accepted.
Dimensions
Height 29.5 cm
Body diameter 12 cm
Base diameter 9.5 cm
Rim opening 5 cm
Condition
Very good vintage condition. Light surface wear consistent with age. There is a small crater on the surface (see close-up photo), likely from a clay bubble that was worked during making and then fully glazed over. This is a manufacturing characteristic, not a chip or defect.
NOTE: For collectors who prefer a flawless appearance, any imperfections can be assessed and, if desired, professionally restored by a specialist experienced in working with this type of material.
Shipping: The item will be carefully packed and shipped with tracking. Insurance is included in the shipping fee. Any customs duties, taxes or import fees are the buyer's responsibility.

While we are not professional appraisers, restorers, or conservators, we make every effort to describe each item honestly, accurately, and as comprehensively as possible.
