Frame: 40,8 x 34,8 cm

Signed in pen verso and accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity, including Hendrik Kerstens' personal fingerprint. The photograph is framed behind glass with passe-partout.
Excellent condition.

Provenance: purchased from Galerie Yoshiko Matsumoto, Amsterdam (original invoice included). The reverse of the work bears the reference to Witzenhausen Gallery, Amsterdam, which played an important role in the international promotion of Hendrik Kerstens' photography during this period. This Witzenhausen Gallery label is signed in pen by Hendrik Kerstens.

Hendrik Kerstens is internationally recognized for his carefully staged portraits of his daughter Paula, inspired by the visual language of the Dutch Golden Age. His photographs combine contemporary photography with the atmosphere, lighting and composition of 17th-century Dutch master painters such as Rembrandt and Vermeer.
