Condition Description

This is a Fender Japan Stratocaster, model ST72-58US (a 1972-style reissue), Crafted in Japan. The serial number O089641 places it in the 1997–2000 CIJ period. It features the classic '70s-style large headstock and the correct bullet truss rod nut (adjustable at the headstock for easy seasonal/string setup), a large-headstock feature that is popular among players. It is fitted with USA-made single-coil pickups as per the ST72-58US specification. This is an honest, well-played instrument that sounds excellent and functions perfectly.

Cosmetic condition: As a used vintage-style instrument, it shows honest wear. There is a dent on the body end, along with other scratches, dings and some age-related soiling/discoloration across the body — please review the photos closely for the full picture. The metal hardware and tuner buttons show some age and tarnish. The white finish has a warm, slightly aged tone.

Neck & frets: Frets have good height remaining overall (roughly 70–80%). Please note there is one localized string divot on a single fret, likely from bending in that position — it does not affect normal playability. The rosewood fingerboard shows honest playwear: the treble side is darker and smooth/polished from years of playing, while other areas are drier. The board would benefit from conditioning/oiling. The neck features the correct '70s bullet truss rod.

Electronics: Fully functional and sounds excellent. All three pickups, the 5-way pickup selector switch, the volume control and both tone controls work correctly with no issues.
