Περιγραφή από τον πωλητή

Brand – Yamaha

Type of instrument/accessories – SA-15D vintage hollow-body electric guitar / semi-acoustic electric guitar

Where it is made (country) – Japan

Serial number – 16074

Colour – Black

Type of wood body/neck – Laminated wood hollow body / mahogany neck / rosewood fingerboard

Type of tuners – Yamaha-branded open-gear tuners, 3-a-side, believed to be original

Type of pickups – 2 x Yamaha single-coil pickups, believed to be original

Type of neck joint – Bolt-on

Whether parts have been replaced – No obvious replacement parts have been identified. The Yamaha-branded tuners, pickups, controls and main hardware appear period-correct. However, the absolute originality of every component and solder joint cannot be guaranteed. The control pickguard has been reinforced from the underside, and one pickguard mounting screw is missing.

Whether there is any damage – Yes. This is a heavily played vintage instrument with extensive age-related cosmetic wear. There are numerous scratches, scuffs, small dents and finish wear across the body, neck and headstock. The rear upper edge of the headstock has a larger area of finish loss, and the headstock edges show chips and impact marks. The body finish shows age-related checking, rippling and surface irregularities. Metal hardware shows oxidation, plating wear and pitting. The control pickguard has several significant cracks and has been reinforced from the underside. One pickguard mounting screw is missing. Please examine the photographs carefully for the overall cosmetic condition.

Whether repairs are needed – No immediate repair appears necessary for normal playability. The guitar has been personally play-tested and is currently playable. Both pickups, the 3-way pickup selector, both volume controls and both tone controls have been tested and are working. The frets show moderate age-related wear and flattening. The previous owner estimated approximately 60–70% fret life remaining, although this has not been independently measured. Considering the age of the instrument, a professional setup or routine maintenance may be beneficial according to the new owner's playing preference.

◉Shipping method – Shipped via DHL. Estimated delivery approx. 10 days after auction close.
Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying.

◉Additional information

This Yamaha SA-15D belongs to Yamaha's earliest generation of Japanese hollow-body electric guitars. The SA-15/SA-15D family was introduced in 1968. This particular example is conservatively described as a late-1960s instrument, circa 1968–1969, as the exact production year of serial number 16074 cannot be conclusively verified from the surviving serial information.

The guitar features the distinctive asymmetric body shape, checkerboard-style body binding, bound fingerboard with thumbnail-style position markers, Yamaha tuning-fork pickguard design, vintage tremolo system and open-gear tuners characteristic of the SA-15D.

Physical condition: Fair.
The instrument shows substantial cosmetic wear consistent with its age. The black finish has numerous scratches and signs of use, while the metal hardware shows oxidation and pitting. The cracked control pickguard is the most notable cosmetic issue and has previously been reinforced from underneath.

Functional condition: Tested and working.
The guitar has been played and tested through an amplifier. Both pickups produce sound normally, the pickup selector operates correctly, and both volume and tone controls are functional. A previous owner reported slight intermittent scratchiness from a volume control, which can be typical of an older potentiometer.

The fingerboard remains in comparatively good condition. The frets have visible wear but the guitar remains playable, with no immediate refret considered necessary based on the current playing test.

This is an approximately late-1960s Japanese vintage instrument and should be considered accordingly: cosmetically well-used, but currently playable and functional. The photographs form an important part of the condition description, so please inspect them carefully before bidding.
