Fabulous Asmat Bone Dagger – Cassowary Bone and Feathers

A striking traditional dagger from the Asmat people of Southwest Papua, made from cassowary bone and decorated with cassowary feathers. The combination of the naturally shaped bone blade and the characteristic feathers gives this piece a powerful and distinctly Asmat appearance.

The dagger is in good overall condition, with an attractive natural patina consistent with its age and traditional use. Cassowary bone was a valued material in the region and was carefully shaped into functional and ceremonial objects.

A wonderful ethnographic object and an appealing collector’s piece, especially for collectors of Asmat art, Papuan weaponry and traditional objects from Southwest Papua.
