Magnificent Vintage 久谷焼Kutani Ware 青粒鉄仙Aochibu Tessen Vase – by 錦峰Kinpo – Elaborate Gold Decoration – Signed with Original 共箱Tomobako
Shipping method: DHL Express
This elegant Japanese porcelain vase is a fine example of traditional Kutani ware, decorated in the highly recognizable 青粒鉄仙Ao-chibu Tessen style.
The body is covered with countless finely applied turquoise-blue raised dots known as “Ao-chibu,” creating a richly textured surface. Over this intricate background, stylized clematis flowers and scrolling vines are rendered with gold decoration. The upper and lower sections are finished in a deep red ground with delicate gold arabesque and geometric patterns, creating a striking contrast with the dark body.
Ao-chibu decoration is one of the distinctive decorative techniques associated with Kutani ware, requiring careful placement of numerous individual raised dots. The combination of blue dot decoration and gold clematis motifs is traditionally known as “Ao-chibu Tessen.” Contemporary descriptions of Kutani Ao-chibu Tessen likewise identify the fine blue dots and gold clematis decoration as characteristic features of this design.
The base bears the artist’s mark, and the original signed wooden tomobako storage box is included. The box inscription identifies the piece as Kutani ware and a vase by Kinpo.
Its tall cylindrical form and exceptionally detailed surface decoration give the vase a refined and luxurious presence. It can be displayed as a decorative art object or used as a flower vase for Japanese or Western floral arrangements.
Includes the signed original wooden box and accompanying paper leaflet.
