Model History:

The Nivada GLX collection belongs to the particularly design-driven period of the brand’s history during the mid-1970s. Contemporary records show Nivada presenting GLX models at the 1976 European Watch, Clock and Jewellery Fair, with the range encompassing both men’s and women’s watches and using the bold integrated-case styling that was fashionable during this period.

This GLX Luxurious Ref. 48015 represents the more elegant side of the collection. Its ultra-clean two-hand layout, slim round case and fully integrated textured mesh bracelet give it a distinctly 1970s jewellery-watch character.

The dial is particularly distinctive, combining a vertically brushed gold-tone centre with a translucent-looking brown peripheral chapter ring carrying minimalist baton hour markers at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. Together with the domed crystal and integrated bracelet, this creates considerable visual depth despite the otherwise minimalist design.

Condition:

The watch is in nice vintage condition, retaining its attractive original 1970s appearance.

The gold-plated case shows age-related wear, small scratches and areas where the plating has become thinner, particularly around the bezel, case edges and bracelet junctions. The stainless-steel case back remains in good condition with the Nivada emblem and reference number clearly visible.

The original integrated mesh bracelet is an important part of the watch’s design and remains structurally sound. It shows visible wear to the gold plating, particularly around the clasp and several sections of the bracelet, where the underlying metal is visible.

The two-tone dial is very well preserved overall. Its brushed gold centre, brown outer ring, printed Nivada logo and GLX LUXURIOUS signature remain clear and attractive. There are only minor age-related marks visible upon close inspection.

The original domed crystal has been polished and presents clearly, although very light remaining age-related marks may still be visible at certain angles.

The manual-winding movement has been fully serviced and tested and is functioning correctly. The watch is sold with a 3-month guarantee on the functionality of the movement.
