Design and Materials

This decorative table lighter impresses with its realism and the quality of the materials specific to the golden age of Japanese manufacturing.

Cannon Barrel: Made entirely of solid brass, preserving a superb original patina that attests to its age.

Body and wheels: Constructed of heavy cast metal, finished in black, with accurate details of the spokes and chassis. The 310g weight gives it excellent stability on the table and confirms the lack of plastic or cheap alloy elements.

Lighter body: The rear area features a chrome section with vertical slots, used as air intakes (oxygenation) to maintain the flame.

Engineering and Functionality

Unlike classic pocket models or those with a simple flap, this model uses an ingenious and rare system:

Realistic triggering: Ignition is done by pulling outwards the conical pin at the back of the cannon (perfectly imitating the firing system of real cannons). This action instantly raises the upper flap (snuffer head) and spins the toothed wheel on the stone.

Feeding: It is done through the front part ("cannon mouth"), where a massive brass screw provides direct access to the internal wadding tank, ensuring a very good seal.

Easy maintenance: On the lower part of the chassis there is the spring screw dedicated to changing the flint, visibly marked next to the original "MODERN JAPAN" stamp.

Value for Collectors

It is a remarkable collector's item (tobacciana / militaria). Most of the remaining examples from this era have blocked mechanisms, weak springs or damaged tanks. This example perfectly combines the aesthetic value of the patina of time with impeccable mechanical functionality
