A distinctive vintage Citizen Auto Dater UNI automatic wristwatch with an elegant mid-century design and a beautifully preserved silver-coloured dial.

The watch features a silver sunburst dial with applied baton hour markers, matching hands and a framed date window at 3 o’clock. The dial is signed Citizen Auto Dater UNI, with “19 Jewels” and “Para 40M Water” printed above 6 o’clock.

The watch is powered by an automatic mechanical movement with 19 jewels, typical of Citizen’s robust and reliable mechanical watches from this period.

The case combines a polished silver-tone bezel and case back with gold-tone lugs and side elements, giving the watch an attractive two-tone vintage appearance. It is fitted with a black leather strap and a folding/deployant-style clasp.

Condition:

The watch is in good vintage condition with visible signs of age and use consistent with its period.

The silver-coloured dial remains attractive and retains its sunburst finish. There are some light age-related marks and small scratches visible on the dial, but the Citizen branding, hour markers and printing remain clear and well defined.

The case shows scratches, surface wear and some loss or discolouration to the gold-tone finish, particularly around the lugs and case edges. The bezel and case back also show normal vintage wear and scratches.

The plexiglass shows light scratches and signs of use.

The black leather strap is a replacement strap and is fitted with a folding clasp. Both show signs of previous use.

The automatic movement is currently running. The service history is unknown. As with all vintage mechanical watches, no guarantee can be given regarding future accuracy, power reserve or performance.

Although the dial is marked “Para 40M Water”, water resistance has not been tested and is therefore not guaranteed.
