Wedgwood Blue Jasperware 9 Piece Collection - Classical and Commemorative Ware - England - Circa 1970s to 1980s
A striking 9 piece collection of vintage Wedgwood blue jasperware, bringing together an attractive assortment of classical, commemorative and decorative pieces in Wedgwood’s celebrated blue and white palette.
The collection displays the characteristic matte blue jasperware body enriched with finely applied white relief decoration, including classical figures, mythological scenes, horses, chariots, foliage and architectural subjects.
Collection Highlights
The lot includes a wonderful variety of forms, including a large oval platter measuring approximately 25 x 19.5 cm, decorative plates and dishes, classical trays, an urn shaped piece and beautifully detailed lidded trinket boxes.
Particularly interesting pieces include the 1880 WELLCOME 1980 commemorative plate and the dish depicting The Roman Baths, Bath.
The large oval platter is especially impressive, decorated with a central classical figural composition surrounded by an elaborate raised vine and foliage border.

The collection is in vintage condition with age related signs of use and display.
There are various minor surface marks and signs of wear throughout. The small plate has minor surface marks, one piece has a mark around the rim or stand area, and the large platter has some dark marks around the rim.
The lidded trinket box shows internal discolouration or dusty lid.
These imperfections are consistent with the age and previous use of the collection and can be seen in the photographs. Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
