Georg Jensen – Made in Denmark – Shape 21 – Vintage Estate Pipe – c. late 1960s–1970s
Offered here is a very attractive vintage Georg Jensen estate pipe, made in Denmark and stamped with shape number 21.
The pipe carries the elegant Georg Jensen script stamping on the shank, together with Made in Denmark and the shape number 21. Based on the construction, style and markings, the pipe most likely dates from approximately the late 1960s to the 1970s.
A particularly charming feature is the small inlaid brass nameplate engraved “BOB”, almost certainly a period owner personalization. This has deliberately been preserved as part of the pipe’s history and character.
The pipe has been carefully restored with respect for its original shape, proportions, markings and vintage appearance.
Restoration included:
* Chamber carefully reamed and thoroughly cleaned
* Mortise and all internal airways thoroughly cleaned
* Stem carefully cleaned, sanded and polished
* Stummel sanded and refinished with a light, transparent stain to remove heavy handling marks and to enhance the natural grain
* Brass nameplate carefully preserved
* Professionally polished and finished with several layers of carnauba wax for protection and a deep natural gloss
The briar displays attractive grain and now has a warm reddish-brown finish with good depth and contrast. The pipe retains normal minor signs of age and previous use, consistent with a vintage estate pipe.
The original markings remain visible, including:
