Description

Large and varied international collectors’ lot featuring coins, medals, official and uncirculated sets, Proof animal-themed coins, banknotes, German Notgeld, Numisbriefs and philatelic material.

The principal highlight is the Tunisia 1970 FAO commemorative silver coin, struck at the Paris Mint in .680 silver and weighing 18 g.

2. Poland – 10 złotych, 1965, Warsaw Mint. Commemorative coin celebrating the 700th anniversary of Warsaw, struck in copper-nickel.


3. China – Hong Taiji, 1627–1643. Modern souvenir medal from the Qing Dynasty Emperors series. This is not an ancient coin and is not legal tender.


4. Spain – Felipe VI / Europe. Privately issued coloured fantasy medal without a denomination. It was not issued as an official coin.


5. Malta – Jean Parisot de La Valette, 2003. Private “1 euro Specimen/Pattern” type medal. It is not an official coin and is not legal tender.

The set includes the 2004 commemorative 20-kroner coin, issued for the 150th anniversary of Norway’s first railway, together with its certificate of authenticity.

Numisbriefs

1. Israel – Jerusalem. Numisbrief containing a 1 new shekel coin, an Israeli stamp dedicated to Jerusalem and a special Jerusalem postmark dated 18 December 1986.


2. Israel – David Ben-Gurion. Numisbrief dedicated to the founder and first prime minister of Israel, containing a 1978 50-shekel banknote, a gold-coloured commemorative medal and cancelled stamps.


3. Trinidad and Tobago. Numisbrief containing a 1979 2-cent coin, a 15-cent stamp and a Port of Spain postmark dated 13 July 1987.


4. Germany – 2002 Flood Relief. Charity Numisbrief containing the commemorative medal “Gemeinsam gegen die Flut”, a special Hochwasserhilfe 2002 stamp and cancellation.


5. Equatorial Guinea/Switzerland – “Swiss Mountains: Piz Palü”. Numisbrief containing a 1996 Equatorial Guinea collector’s coin with a denomination of 1,000 CFA francs, catalogued as KM# 142. The coin is struck in copper-nickel, weighs approximately 28.28 g and measures 38.6 mm in diameter. Its coloured design reproduces a Swiss 30-centime stamp dedicated to Piz Palü.

The presentation also includes the original Swiss 30-centime stamp with a special cancellation and a German-language information sheet about Piz Palü. The coin was not intended for circulation.


Philatelic material

Germany – Official Deutsche Post “Weihnachtswünsche an das Christkind” philatelic folder. It contains seven Christmas cards bearing Christmas stamps issued between 2002 and 2008, with special cancellations from seven German Christmas post offices: Nikolausdorf, Engelskirchen, St. Nikolaus, Himmelsthür, Himmelpfort, Himmelpforten and Himmelstadt. It also includes information about the charitable Christmas postal service.

Deutsche Bundespost first-day sheet dedicated to the composer Christoph Willibald Gluck, bearing a 60-Pfennig stamp and a special first-day cancellation dated 6 November 1987.

Group of 12 used Deutsche Bundespost 20-Pfennig stamps, depicting German buildings and monuments.

Sheet containing a souvenir block and four stamps with special first-day cancellations for the 1972 Munich Olympic Games.

First-day cover dedicated to the 1972 Munich Olympic Games, bearing a commemorative souvenir block and a special cancellation dated 5 July 1972.
