Περιγραφή από τον πωλητή
Anchiornis sp.
Period:
Late Jurassic Period, approximately 160 million years ago
Location:
Tiaojishan Formation, Liaoning Province, China
Size:
Approximately 42 cm
Description:
This is a rare fossil specimen of Anchiornis, one of the most significant feathered dinosaurs discovered from the Jurassic deposits of China.
Anchiornis was a small paravian dinosaur closely related to the evolutionary origin of birds. Living approximately 160 million years ago during the Late Jurassic Period, it represents an important transitional form showing the gradual evolution of feathered dinosaurs toward modern birds.
The specimen displays a delicate skeleton with preserved skull, vertebral column, forelimbs, and hind limbs. Its elongated forelimbs and slender body structure reflect the early development of avian characteristics. Fossils of Anchiornis are especially important because they preserve evidence of complex feathers, providing valuable information about the origin of flight and the evolution of birds.
The specimen comes from the famous Liaoning fossil deposits of China, a world-renowned locality known for exceptionally preserved feathered dinosaurs, early birds, and other Mesozoic vertebrates.
A remarkable scientific and museum-quality fossil representing one of the key stages in the dinosaur-to-bird evolutionary transition.
