The artwork
*Kintsugi Eclipse* is an original abstract painting by Mediterranean artist and researcher Inès Rouissi, created as part of her *Kintsugi Collection*.
The collection is inspired by kintsugi, the Japanese art and philosophy of repairing broken objects with gold. Instead of concealing fractures, kintsugi illuminates them, transforming every trace of rupture into a visible and precious part of the object’s history.
At the centre of this composition, a fractured sphere appears suspended in a field of intense black, as though captured during a silent cosmic eclipse.
One side is dominated by cool grey and shadow, while the other comes alive through deep teal currents, fluid movement and radiant gold pigment. Shimmering golden veins travel across the sphere, reconnecting its fragmented sections and transforming apparent rupture into strength and unity.
