Η Carmen Mercedes McRae (1920-1994) ήταν Αμερικανίδα τραγουδίστρια, συνθέττρια, πιανίστα και ηθοποιός, θεωρείται μια από τις πιο επιδραστικές τραγουδίστριες της τζαζ τον 20ό αιώνα.ù
Αντλούσε έμπνευση από τη Billie Holiday αλλά ανέπτυξε ένα διακριτικό και προσωπικό φωνητικό στυλ.
Κάλισε πάνω από 60 άλμπουμ κατά τη διάρκεια της καριέρας της (1945–1991), ενώ εκτελούσε και ηχογραφούσε στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες, την Ευρώπη και την Ιαπωνία.
