This is the original 1983 Japanese first pressing of Tangerine Dream's "Hyperborea," released in Japan under the title "流氷の詩" (Song of the Drift Ice) via Victor Musical Industries under license from Virgin Records. The insert includes an extensive Japanese-language essay and liner notes (dated December 1983) covering the band's first-ever Japan tour earlier that year and a track-by-track discussion of the album.
Japanese pressings of this era are valued by collectors and audiophiles for their vinyl quality and dedicated mastering, and the insert booklet — a feature specific to the Japanese release — adds significant context not found in other territories' editions.
