Jin Dynasty Terracotta Musician Couple Tiles – 12th to 13th Century AD

A pair of Chinese Jin Dynasty terracotta relief tiles depicting a male and female musician, each shown standing in long robes and holding a musical instrument. Both tiles preserve extensive mineral deposits, earthen accretions and surface encrustations, with numerous visible signs of prolonged burial. The pair is very well preserved overall; the male figure has undergone professional restoration, carefully executed and visually discreet, with the intervention barely noticeable.
