Vintage Blue & White Ceramic Mirror with Applied Flowers – Baroque / Rococo Style
Decorative vintage wall mirror with an elaborate blue and white glazed ceramic frame. The frame is constructed from a series of individually moulded ceramic segments assembled around the oval mirror, rather than from a single piece. Each section features relief decoration with scrolls, shells and floral motifs, enriched by small applied ceramic flowers and leaves.
The oval frame has a strongly sculptural, almost Baroque/Rococo character, with deep cobalt-blue decoration over a white ground. Small hand-applied ceramic flowers and leaves are distributed around the perimeter, adding colour and relief to the composition.
The mirror has an impressive presence due both to its size and to the depth of the ceramic decoration. The back is finished with a wooden panel and hanging point.
