Model History:

Introduced during the late 1960s, the Seiko Lord Matic collection occupied an important position between Seiko’s mainstream automatic watches and its more prestigious King Seiko models. Primarily intended for the Japanese domestic market, Lord Matic watches combined refined styling with slim, technically sophisticated movements from Seiko’s 56-series.

Manufactured in May 1971, this example features an elegant silver-white sunburst dial, an angular stainless-steel case and its original stainless-steel bracelet. It is powered by the 23-jewel calibre 5606A, offering automatic and manual winding, hacking seconds and a quickset bilingual day-date calendar.

Condition:

The watch is presented in good and attractive vintage condition. Its silver-white sunburst dial retains a pleasing radial finish, clear printing and applied baton hour markers. Some light age-related spotting and small surface marks are visible, particularly around the lower portion and outer perimeter of the dial. These remain relatively discreet and are consistent with the age of the watch. The hands and applied markers show light natural patina.

The stainless-steel case displays scratches, small marks and general signs of previous use. Its characteristic angular Lord Matic profile remain clearly recognisable.

The case back shows surface scratches and some marks, while its reference number, serial number and other engravings remain clearly legible.

The original stainless-steel bracelet is fitted with its signed LM clasp. It displays scratches, scuffs and normal age-related wear, together with some play between the links.

A new, scratch-free crystal has been fitted. The calibre 5606A movement has been serviced, and all functions are operating correctly. A 3-month guarantee is provided on functionality.
