Περιγραφή από τον πωλητή
Αυτή η αυθεντική πορσελάνινη προτομή του Βλαντιμίρ Λένιν από τα μέσα του 20ού αιώνα αποτελεί μια εκλεπτυσμένη example of Soviet ideological sculpture, executed in white matte bisque porcelain with a soft, marble-like appearance.
Standing approx. 20 cm tall, the piece demonstrates precise facial modelling, sharp contours, and the characteristic realism of Soviet sculptural art. The calm yet determined expression reflects the canonical image of Lenin as represented throughout the USSR during the Cold War period.
On the underside, the bust bears the factory mark LFZ (Leningrad Porcelain Factory), confirming its authenticity. The base also features the original firing vent hole — a standard and important characteristic of genuine porcelain production.
About LFZ – Leningrad Porcelain Factory:
The Leningrad Porcelain Factory (LFZ), originally founded in 1744 as the Imperial Porcelain Factory, is one of the oldest and most prestigious porcelain manufacturers in Europe.
After the 1917 Revolution, it became the leading porcelain enterprise of the Soviet Union, producing high-quality artistic works, including sculptures, propaganda objects, and decorative pieces widely distributed across the USSR and beyond.
LFZ porcelain is highly valued today for:
exceptional material quality and purity of form
strong sculptural tradition
historical and cultural significance
limited survival of well-preserved mid-century pieces
Historical Context:
Busts of Lenin were central symbols of Soviet ideology and were displayed in institutions such as schools, administrative buildings, and cultural centres. Today, they serve as tangible artefacts of Cold War history, reflecting the aesthetics and messaging of the Soviet era.
Condition:
Overall very good vintage condition.
There is a small, discreet chip on the edge, consistent with age and handling. It remains hardly noticeable in display and does not affect the overall visual presence of the piece.
Please refer to the photos for full condition details.
