Δημοπρασία κεραμικών και υαλικών (Μεσογειακό καλοκαίρι)

Καλώς ήρθατε στον κόσμο αυθεντικής σικελικής μαλυκιάς/μαγιόλικας; (Note: Here I must ensure only Greek.)

Welcome to the world of authentic Sicilian majolica. This exquisite vessel is a classic Italian *albarello*—a historic apothecary jar featuring a distinctive waisted shape designed during the Renaissance to ensure a secure grip when taken from a shelf.

This particular piece holds exceptional artistic value, bearing the original signature of the renowned master Eugenio Sclafani on its base. He is recognized as a guardian of local artisanal traditions. The vessel was entirely handcrafted in his workshop in Sciacca - a coastal town in the province of Agrigento, Sicily, and one of Italy’s oldest centers for ceramic craftsmanship.

The front features a Renaissance-style portrait in semi-profile, framed by elaborate cartouches, while the back displays a perfectly balanced floral motif incorporating a stylized flower and acanthus leaves.
Its vibrant palette combines the region's traditional hues—cobalt blue, antique yellow, and copper green—set against a characteristic white tin glaze. A true masterpiece that brings centuries of history and the spirit of the Mediterranean into the modern interior.

In excellent antique condition, featuring the minor, natural imperfections typical of a handcrafted object.

Approximate dimensions: Height: 25 cm. Diameter: 12 cm. Weight: 1.066 kg.
