Οπισθόφυλλο: Ο Ποσειδών καθισμένος αριστερά πάνω στην πλώρη με την κεφαλή-εικόνα της Αθηνά Προμάχος, κρατώντας στεφάνι και τρίαινα. Ημερομηνία περιόδου Aradian στην εξεργού. Φοινικικά γράμματα δεξιά.

Arados (Arwad) was one of the principal Phoenician city-states, occupying a small fortified island off the Syrian coast. Its powerful fleet and strategic position made it important to Mediterranean trade and Persian naval power. Under Achaemenid rule it retained its own kings and coinage, later submitting peacefully to Alexander the Great in 332 BC and contributing ships to his campaign against Tyre.
