AMC Wasmuel Art Deco Ceramic Vase – Hand-Painted Blue, Red & Gold – Belgium – c. 1920–1930 – 29 cm
Description
Elegant Belgian Art Deco ceramic vase, attributed to Auguste Mouzin & Cie (AMC), Wasmuel, dating approximately from the 1920s–1930s.
The vase has a distinctive sculptural form with an elongated body, raised decorative details and a shaped upper rim. The front is richly decorated with a stylised floral and geometric composition in cobalt blue, light blue, red and gold, characteristic of the Art Deco period.
The underside bears a partially preserved AMC factory mark, together with impressed/embossed production numbers.
Height: approximately 29 cm.
The vase is in good vintage condition considering its age. There is visible overall craquelure/crazing in the glaze, particularly noticeable on the reverse and underside, as shown clearly in the photographs. There are also normal traces of age and wear, including some wear to the gilded decoration and minor surface marks. Please study all photographs carefully as they form an integral part of the condition description.
A decorative and characteristic example of Belgian Art Deco pottery from Wasmuel, with an attractive architectural shape and strong period decoration.
